MACHO – «Male Art Beauty»

En el año 2008 el fotógrafo Daniel Santacatalina comienza el proyecto “Beautys for men” bajo el concepto de la belleza y la masculinidad cambiante. Durante esta etapa empieza a realizar beautys masculinas implementadas en sesiones de moda, como en la serie WOW, realizada con la maquilladora Sheila Serrano. A esta primera sesión le siguió una segunda editorial “Out colors” de nuevo con Sheila, de un estilo más artístico. Posteriormente realiza la beauty “Tribute Mondrian”, Laura Bruy. Estos primeros trabajos fueron publicados en revistas y blogs de tendencias.

Después de una parada y de analizar la idea inicial sobre las Beautys Masculinas. Decide seguir trabajando sobre el mismo tema pero con un carácter más artístico. Es en este momento cuando coincide con la maquilladora Ana Sabina Vergara y deciden desarrollar una serie de imágenes conjuntamente en esta colección de beautys artísticas.

Plasmar las fantasías y posibilidades de expresión de un rostro masculino, explorando al hombre a través de una interpretación artística. El modelo como lienzo en el que crear las ideas de la maquilladora y la visión del fotógrafo para conseguir unas piezas de alto contenido estético.

Una incursión profundamente personal de dos maneras de entender y ver las cosas con un mismo objetivo: establecer una relación singular con la piel y dar a cada imagen un carácter único, consiguiendo que aquello que es conocido se convierta en algo nuevo e inquietante.

MACHO – «Male Beauty Art»

In 2008 photographer Daniel Santacatalina begins  «Beautys for men» project under the concept of beauty and changing masculinity. During this stage starts making beautys implemented male fashion shoots, as in the WOW series, performed with the makeup artist Sheila Serrano. This first meeting was followed by a second editorial «Out Colors» back with Sheila, a more artistic style. Then performs beauty «Mondrian Tribute» Laura Bruy. These early works were published in magazines and blogs trend.

After a stop and analyze the initial idea about male Beautys. He decides to continue working on the same subject but with a more artistic nature. It is at this point that matches the makeup artist Sabina Ana Vergara and decide to develop a series of images together in this collection of artistic beautys.

Embody the fantasies and possibilities of expression of a male face, exploring the man through an artistic interpretation. The model as a canvas on which to create the makeup ideas and vision of the photographer to get some pieces of high aesthetic content.

A deeply personal incursion in two ways to understand and see things with the same goal: to establish a unique relationship with the skin and give each image a unique character, getting what is known into something new and disturbing.
